Chris K. Soentpiet
Chris K. Soentpiet, author and illustrator, visited Central Boulevard in 1999. He was born in Korea and adopted by an American family. Many of his books deal with Asian subjects. The Last Dragon is about a boy who spends the summer with his great-aunt in Chinatown. Peacebound Trains is about a family escaping from the Korean War. So Far from the Sea is about the Japanese who were interned during World War II. These books are available in the Central Boulevard School Library.
