2. One pocket folder
3. One large, cloth (not plastic) pencil pouch, to include at all times: a) 2 sharpened pencils b) 2 blue or black ball-point pens (not erasable, felt-tipped, or gel) c) 2 ball-point marking pens - any color except blue or black (not erasable, felt-tipped, or gel) d) 1 basic 6-inch clear plastic protractor
4. One box of thin, colored, water based, washable markers
5. One (NOT two) small box of tissues **to be kept on your desk for your personal use, to be replaced, as needed, when the box is empty**
6. One dozen-size cardboard egg carton **minus the eggs, of course!** **Please DO NOT write your name on the carton**
7. Headphones for the Dell Computer - **Please secure it in a clear, freezer-size Ziploc bag (NOT sandwich-size baggie)** **Label this bag with your first and last name**
8. Smock for Art **Write your first and last name on the label**
9. Homework Buddy - **Bring in the names of 2 buddies who will be able to take your work home for you when you are absent**

a) BOOK REPORT: an introduction of characters (fiction genre), or an introduction of the topic read (nonfiction genre)
b) BOOK REPORT: a summary, minimum one-page typewritten, using double-spaced lines
c) BOOK REPORT: a recommendation - would this book be interesting for others to read? Why or why not?
d) MINI-RESEARCH PROJECT: an introduction of the topic researched, descriptive details (including interesting facts and information), and a conclusion
e) MINI-RESEARCH PROJECT: an informal list of the sources used - encyclopedia (title), internet web site (name of site), book (title and author) - written on a separate page entitled BIBLIOGRAPHY **The bibliography page should be the last page of the report** _________________________________________________________________________________________

**The children will research their chosen topic using the encyclopedia in the CBS library and using the internet in Dell Lab**
**Each child will be required to read a book as well - either one from our school library or the public library**
**This one page report will include factual information from all three sources - encyclopedia, internet, and book**
**An informal bibliography (list of sources) will be written on the second (or last) page of this report**
