Welcome to the Wonderful World of Reading

The following list contains suggestions for you to do with your children while reading at home.

Emphasize rereading and going back to locate the answer.

Underline the answer when they locate it.

Read one (1) paragraph and ask your child to state in one (1) sentence what the paragraph is about. (What is the main idea?)

Have your child identify main character, setting, problem, events and solution.

There may be some reading assignment sent home that are different from the class assignments. These assignment will be given out during Guided Reading and should be completed before the next time that our group meets.
