Welcome
Back! I hope everyone had a wonderful vacation. This week we had a 21st
Century Class with Mrs. Marcis. We identified owl pellet bones and began
creating our final projects. In Social
Studies, we finished Chapter 3 on the first people of

This
week in Language Arts, we read a story called, “My Diary from Here to There”.
We used clues from the story to help us make inferences. In Grammar, we worked
on spelling plural nouns correctly. In Math, we are working on multiplying 3
digits by 2 digit numbers. Please study math facts every night. We compared
parallel circuits to series circuits in Science. Please continue to work on
your Science Fair projects at home. “Designing the Investigation” is due on
Jan. 20.

This four day work week seemed to go so fast. In Language Arts,
we have been practiced our listening and note taking skills. We learned about
photosynthesis in Science. We continued
to multiply with greater numbers and took a chapter 7 math test this week. We began a read aloud book called, How to
Beat the Bully Without Really Trying by Scott
Starkey and the children are really enjoying it. It gives us many opportunities
to discuss how to treat one another. The author is a fifth grade teacher from
