Summer Program - Announcements

SCHEDULE PLACEMENT CARDS WERE MAILED ON MONDAY JUNE 28TH.

ANY CHANGES TO YOUR CHILD'S PLACEMENT WILL BE MADE DURING THE FIRST WEEK

If there is a problem with the section your child is in please do not call the Discovery phone number, but rather see Lynne Brewer , the on-site director on the first day of the program. We will try to honor all requests. Only call or preferably email if your child's grade is incorrect.

The program is open to district residents ages Pre-K to 8th grade. Non district residents on a first come first serve basis. This year's theme is the amazing race. Students will participate in hands on activities based on this theme. Arts and crafts, social studies (not a homework class all hands on activities) Phys. Ed. and two electives that switch after 3 weeks. The younger children get theater arts and cooking. The older children will have business, and upper grades will have fashion & cooking Each of the four classes is about 40 minutes long and there is a snack time (which you provide) In addition there is outside play, weather permitting which includes the use of sprinklers. Every class has a teacher and student-aide or CIT and each class is limited to approx. 15 children.
