Bethpage UFSD Help Desk and Support Web Page
Copying
Welcome to the Bethpage UFSD Help Desk and Support Web Site!

This page will show you how to copy with the Lexmark copiers, and go over some of the options you have. Please keep in mind that the two different model copiers have slightly different screens; however, the process is the same for both.

    1. Login to the copier and select the Copy button.

    2. The copy menu will appear. The default settings are shown below. If you are doing a basic, one-sided job you can enter the number of copies and press Copy It. Otherwise, the settings are explained below.

Copy From/Copy To: By default, the copier selects Letter size paper. You can change this by pressing the arrow next to each option.

Scale: You can shrink or enlarge your original document.

Darkness: You can lighten or darken your original document.

Content: You can change the content type to one of the below choices. By default, it is set to Text/Photo, which should be satisfactory for most copy jobs.

Sides (Duplex): You can set your duplex (double-sided) choice to one of the below options:

Collate: You can choose whether or not to collate your job.

Staple: You can choose whether or not to staple your job. Keep in mind the copiers can only do one staple, in the upper left corner.

If you press Advanced Options, there are two pages of additional options, shown below:

If you press on any of these, the copier will explain them. Most are very advanced options and should not be necessary. However, one that may be of interest is the Custom Job option. Turning this on will allow you to process one job using both the document feeder and the flatbed. For example, if you want to make a packet where pages 1-3 are worksheets, page 4 is from a textbook, and page 5 is a worksheet, you could use the Custom Job to do this instead of combining the copies manually. After you scan each part in, the copier will prompt you to scan from the feeder or the flatbed.

Make sure you log out of the copier when you are done - don't let someone take your quota!
