Patrick Calabria

Patrick Calabria graduated BHS in 1969.  He was the Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, a member of the Principal’s Cabinet and was voted Most School Spirited in the 1969 yearbook. 
He went on to Hofstra University where he remained active in school affairs serving in the Student Senate.  He also pursued his love of journalism and was editor of the Hofstra Chronicle.  Pat then went on to work as a sports writer for Newsday where he had the opportunity to cover some of the biggest sports stories of the day.  He loved covering his beloved Islanders during their championship days in the early 1980’s.  He also covered the 1980, 1888 and 1992 Olympics.  He reported on numerous tennis events including the U. S. Open, Wimbledon and the French Open.
Pat later went on to become the Chief Media Relations Officer at Stony Brook University, helping to raise the prestige and profile on this important Long Island institution.  He currently serves as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Enrollment Management at Farmingdale State College, where he supervises all external relations and student recruitment for the largest college of applied sciences and technology in the State University of New York system.
Pat has returned to BHS on numerous occasions to talk about his career and to honor past greats of BHS athletic history.
