Introduction: You have just received a
letter from William Clark and Meriwether Lewis asking you to join the Corps of
Discovery on their expedition across newly acquired territory called
Assignment: To write a journal about
your journey with Lewis and Clark. You
must include facts that relate to your adventure and write as if you are back
in the 1800’s. You must remain true to
the time period and facts. You have no
cell phone, televisions, and you cannot change the course of history. So, you cannot kill Lewis or Clark. Good Luck and come back safely. You must

A
journal with a title, front and back cover
a.
The
journal should be assembled in a creative cover/binding & not stapled
between to standard size sheets of paper. No loose-leaf! You can use construction paper, cardboard,
fabric, ribbon.
2.
At
least 4 entries (handwritten or typed) including:
a.
Start of journey,
preparation, leaders, early days and your hopes/expectations.
b.
Observations
of climate, wildlife,
landscape
c.
Encounters
with Native Americans
d.
Hardships
and Obstacles

Map
of

4.
Drawings
of animals, plant life, Native Americans
Trace
or draw freehand. No clip art or pictures from magazines. Think of all of the plants, animals and tools
that were used during the expedition
