Solo Time For Strings, Bk 2, by Forest Etling, published by Alfred Music is available at local music stores or at jwpepper.com.

Cello and bass players will be responsible for broken strings on instruments they use at home only.  They are not expected to buy a set of strings ahead of time.

Cello and bass players are expected to take a school instrument home for home practicing.  There is no rental fee; however, the responsibility for broken strings is yours.  Violinists and violists must purchase or rent their instruments from an outside vendor.

Policies:

  1. After you get tuned, get your folder and go directly to your seat.  Be in your seat, ready to play when I am done tuning everyone.  If you are not in your seat when I do attendance, you are late.  After 3 lates, you may get detention.
  2. No running, rough-housing, play fighting, or sword play in the orchestra room.
  3. No food or drink in the classroom during orchestra rehearsal.  No exceptions.
  4. Have a pencil available at your stand.  Leave it in the folder.
  5. Use the pass if you must leave the room.  One person at a time.  Bathroom use  only.  Sign out in the notebook, including the date and time.  Print legibly.
  6. Learn your music at home, so we have a productive orchestra class.  This year you will be graded on a home practice record.  Your parents will sign it weekly.
  7. You are required to come to lessons.  You are expected to learn the lesson assignments and will be graded on your performance of them.
