Solo Time For Strings, Bk 2

Rosin

Pencils

Folder

A.  You are excused from class to attend lessons.  Please follow these rules:

1.      Go to your class first!  Tell your teacher you have an orchestra lesson.  Show your teacher your lesson pass (lesson passes are available in orchestra class).

  1. Turn in your homework and get the day’s assignment.  Ask your teacher about extra help to make up the work.
  2. Go to your lesson.  All lessons are on stage, except in a few, rare, cases.
  3. When you get to your lesson, quickly set up your instrument, get a music stand, and sit in your assigned seat.

B.  Some other important rules about lessons:

  1. If you are having a test in class, stay in class and take the test.
  2. If you have a lab or a quiz, ask your teacher if you can make it up another time.
  3. If you are failing or doing poorly, go to class and make up your lesson.
  4. Always bring your instrument and folder to your lesson.
  5. Learn the lesson assignments at home and be prepared to play them in lesson.
  6. There are 7 lesson meetings each marking period.  You are expected at 5 of them.
  7. If you follow the schedule, you miss each class once a marking period – that’s one out of 43 classes to take lessons.

C.  Make up lessons:

Make-up lessons are available Mondays after school.  Please tell me ahead of time that you would like a make-up lesson; otherwise, I may not be there!

D.  Lunch:

If your lesson is scheduled during lunch period, bring your lunch to school.  Bring your lunch to your lesson and eat it there.  You may sit in the back row and eat while the other students have their lesson.  You will be marked present and will get 4 points for eating lunch!  Please do not buy your lunch on lesson days.

E.  Parents:   Your child’s academic progress is important to me, and I have structured the lesson schedule accordingly.  The lesson schedule requires minimal time out of other classes.  Please help your child read the lesson schedule and plan ahead to avoid confusion.  Please sign below to acknowledge you have read this letter.

Please sign, clip, and send back
