"Language is no one's private ground...language is common ground; let us trespass freely and fearlessly and find our own way for ourselves."

~Virginia Woolf

Welcome to my world!

In English 7, we will discover ourselves and the world through language-the "common ground" with which to find our own way and make sense of what we read, write, and speak.

Using Writer's Notebooks, writing folders, and class discussions, we will talk about books, reading, authors, and writing, and make personal connections with the short stories, poems, biographies, and novels we read, as well as create some of our own.

It is my hope that together we will ask questions, look for answers, take risks, and perhaps most important, discover how reading and writing can help us "find our own way."
