1993 Boys' Football Team

The Bethpage Golden Eagles Varsity Football team had what many may call a perfect season in 1993! The Golden Eagles, in their first year in Conference IV, posted an 11-0 record, outscoring their opponents 476-32 in those 11 games. Led by All-Long Island Captain Steve Romano, All-County do-it-all Brian Herbert, and All-County big-play-maker Ryan Caulfield, the Eagles not only finished first on Long Island in points for, and first on Long Island in points against, but they broke both the Nassau County and Long Island team scoring records with 337 regular season points and 476 overall points. The Eagles won the Conference IV Championship, crushing North Shore 47-0! They then moved on to achieve two goals never before attained by the relentless Bethpage Football tradition: the Eagles were voted winners of the coveted Rutgers Cup, symbolizing the best team in Nassau County, and then went on to win Bethpage its first ever Long Island Championship! The Eagles would like to thank Coach Vogts, Coach Dill, Coach Posch, and everyone else who helped them achieve perfection this year!
