Anita Pepe Disanza

Anita Pepe started her distinguished career in Bethpage in 1964 as a Spanish and Latin teacher. She taught both languages through the years before retiring in 1996.  Miss Pepe eventually became Mrs. Disanza after marrying a colleague- beloved teacher and Athletic Director Joe Disanza.  They were big fans of the Golden Eagles long after they retired and attended athletic events with great pride.

Ms. Disanza was deeply involved in activities at BHS.  Her picture is everywhere in the yearbooks from those years.  She was Cheerleading Coach, Senior Class Advisor, Honor Society Advisor, Spanish Club Advisor and a participant and organizer of the Faculty Follies.  She was integral to the Golden Eagle spirit in those formative years.

The Class of 1969 dedicated their yearbook to Miss Pepe, noting that she “served for many years and in many ways to expand the minds of inquiring youth.”
